Wildlife Stories - Dirt Crackers

This squirrel came right up beside me and started eating bits of soil that had solidified into pieces about the size of a Wheat Thin cracker. Do animals suffer from pica? I don't know the reason it was snacking on the dirt, but it seemed to like it.
